Windows File History backups are very straight forward and easy to use.
Why are they not as prevalent as Time Machine is with MAC OS? likely because there is not as strong marketing from Microsoft on the features or functionality. With the push from Microsoft for OneDrive, File History goes un noticed and un used.
From the Control Panel we can go to System and Security > File History OR select the option to “Save backup copies of your files with file history“.
Once selected, on the Left panel choose “Select Drive” and select the drive you have and wish to keep your file history backup on.
Once you select “OK” this will enable file history and you will then be able to recover modified files, going back for as long as the backup disk has capacity for.
